Dr Ahmed Alshafi qualified from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College London in 2006, completing his vocational training with the University of Oxford. Woodlands Dental & Implant Centre has been serving the Maidenhead community for over 40 years. Beyond Dentistry
Ahmed has a longstanding commitment to public and humanitarian service. As a student at King’s College London, he was elected President of the Arabic Society and awarded a Gold Award by the King’s Student Society for transforming it into an open cultural and arts society — growing it into the third largest society at the university, after the football and rugby societies.
In 2012, Ahmed was democratically elected by the members of the Iraqi Medical Association to serve as President — an organisation established in 1991 to support healthcare workers — a position he held for three years, contributing six years to the organisation in total. Under his leadership the association raised funds for the British Heart Foundation and charities providing humanitarian aid to Iraq, organised a public health awareness day offering free healthcare advice, seminars, and diagnostics to the London community led by UK consultant doctors from across all specialties, and worked closely with the Ministry of Health to advance collaboration between British and Iraqi medical and dental professionals. Ahmed was subsequently awarded a Certificate of Thanks by the Iraqi Health Attaché in London in recognition of his service. He has also given his time volunteering at a local nursing home.
Outside the practice, Ahmed is a father of three. He keeps active through weightlifting, hiking, tennis, padel, and cycling, and finds equal balance in reading, gardening, spending time with his family, and voluntary work.
